There is a famous phrase that often permeates into our lives at just the right moment “what doesn’t break us will make us stronger.” They’re words we hear when the ways of this world have broken us. But for one former foster youth they have become words to live by. I first met John Paul Horn three years ago at the downtown Bakersfield Starbucks where he was working as a barista.
Our mission at Covenant Media is to give a voice to the voiceless and provide hope to foster youth in Bakersfield as well as around the world. Having covered several stories about foster youth while at KGET, it was evident that many foster youth lack a voice in today’s media. We are going to change that.
